THE BELUBAG
A COLLECTION BAG FOR SUBMERGED WASTE
The BELUBAG is the result of a meeting between the design office of Manta Innovation and the NSA, a diving club specialising in underwater waste collection based in Arcachon.
The NSA stands for for Nettoyeurs SubAquatiques (French for Underwater Cleaners) and, like many environmentally conscious divers, its members dedicate part of their diving time to the collection of submerged waste.
To do so, they use bags that they fill as they dive. Unfortunately, these bags currently have some drawbacks: they are most often not designed to be handled - transported in the water, or to carry waste; and when they are, they are made on the other side of the world, under uncontrollable conditions.
Something had to be done!
THE WASTE LIFT
A SOLUTION DESIGNED TO BRING WASTE TO THE SURFACE
Following the development of the BELUBAG, the underwater waste collection bag, Manta Innovation has developed the waste lift, a solution designed to bring several bags to the surface... in one go.
For years, divers have been using lifting parachutes/bags to bring heavy one-piece loads to the surface: a tyre, a bicycle, an anchor, etc.
But how do you bring up several bags full of waste at the same time? How do you avoid having to dive down for each and every one of them? And above all, how can you give divers more time for underwater cleaning?
With a waste lift, of course!

THE MOBULA 8
A MULTI-PURPOSE CLEAN-UP VESSEL FOR COASTAL AND INLAND CALM WATERS
MANTA INNOVATION and EFINOR SEA CLEANER worked together to create the MOBULA 8, a bespoke clean-up vessel equipped with unique and innovative technology for collecting floating solid and liquid waste.
The MOBULA 8 is multi-purpose and can operate in calm and protected waters, small and large rivers, canals, mangroves, lake areas, coastal areas up to 5 miles offshore, and even in shallow waters.
Access to these areas was also considered in the development, so the boat can be transported by road or using a container. It can also switch from transit to collection mode in less than 30 seconds!
