While the technical specifications, some 120 pages and more than 50 plans, allowing the construction of the giant sailing ship, have just been completed, the certification of the “Approval in Principle” by Bureau Veritas is a giant leap forward in the realisation of this innovative and unique project. In other words, thanks to this certification, the Manta is now fit to be built, the ship is approved.
New steps are now open to the ship before its launch in 2025: first, an exchange phase with the shipyards, along with a Call for Tenders, then its construction starting end of 2023.
The SeaCleaners team is proud and happy to have taken up this technical challenge and would like to thank all its partners in the technical consortium, without whom this would not have been possible, starting with the naval architect LMG Marin as well as MTB, Ship-ST, Greenflow, Air Liquide, CEA Tech, Lumen At Work, BlueBox Technology, ETIA – Ecotechnologies, Cap Gemini Engineering, Technip Energies, Chantiers de l’Atlantique, SP Group, Centrale Nantes, Southern Spars, École navale, DEMS, Efinor, Emeraude Solaire, Schottel, KLiUX, SDI, la Région Bretagne, Laboratoire des Sciences du Numérique de Nantes (LS2N), Intralox, Echoview Software, Ixblue, OBEO, Padmos, Turbe.
